The Nova Primavera 2026 was launched during the celebrations for the 46th anniversary of the Workers’ Party in Salvador (BA). A successful project, the initiative is part of the party’s political training strategy for the next electoral cycle and has as its central focus the strengthening of grassroots groups, territorial action, and popular organization in the face of the challenges of 2026.
The launch event brought together party leaders, activists, and representatives from the training sector, reinforcing the role of political education as a strategic tool to expand the PT’s presence in the territories, especially in the peripheries, neighborhoods, and cities of the country.
According to Osvaldir de Freitas, director of the PT’s National Training School, the Journey directly responds to the political moment experienced by the party and the country. “The Jornada Nova Primavera 2026 is fundamental for the moment we are living through and for preparing the Workers’ Party to face the challenges of 2026. It stems from a central conviction: it is in strengthening the territories, local actions, and grassroots organization that the path to transforming Brazil is built,” he stated.

According to Osvaldir, the purpose of the Journey is to reposition grassroots work as the structuring axis of party action. “Our objective is to change the country starting from the territories, the peripheries, the neighborhoods, and the cities. It is where we tread the ground, where we place our feet, that transformation happens. By strengthening this territorial base, we walk together to continue helping President Lula transform Brazil, a process that is already underway. Long live popular organization and the strength of the grassroots,” he concluded.
In this edition, the New Spring 2026 Journey consolidates the territorial dimension of the training, with the establishment of in-person centers throughout the country and the organization of state-level classes structured around two main axes: political reflection and the organization of grassroots work.
According to Tássia Rabelo, national secretary for Political Training and Education of the PT (Workers’ Party), the initiative reaffirms training as a central instrument for strengthening the party and for political competition in the coming period.
Registration for the 2026 New Spring Journey is open until March 1st and must be done through the PT National Training School website.
