The Perseu Abramo Foundation will launch a course coordinated and organized by the executive coordinator, Juliana Foernges, and professors Jorge Branco and Lincoln Secco, on the theme “The Far Right Today: Hatred and the War for Power.”

The course will present the distinctive aspects of the rise and strengthening of the far right in the 21st century, a movement that is taking place in different parts of the world and finds in the crisis of the capitalist-neoliberal economy and the social crisis the global environment that frames this growth; it will outline how the far right constructs its peculiarities and particularities, presenting common elements in its expressions: the rejection of equality, of contemporaneity, the struggle for the reestablishment of traditional hierarchies, the aversion to diversity and ethnic plurality, scientific denialism, the fight against immigrants, and its rejection of democratic radicalization and the left.

The classes for this course are available on the Perseu Abramo Foundation’s YouTube channel.
