The Sflix Address Changed, but Scary Movie Is Still Insane

A passenger asked me last week why Los Angeles traffic is so bad.

I told him it’s because every person in this city believes their destination is more important than yours. He didnt laugh, but honestly that one was free. My good jokes are saved for open-mic night.

After dropping him off, I had almost an hour before the next ride and started looking for Scary Movie. My old Sflix bookmark was dead, which I first assumed was just my phone being trash again. Nope. The site had moved, and the working address I found was https://sflix.soap2day.day/.

I watched the movie later that night after performing for eleven people at a comedy club. Four were other comics and one was asleep, so I needed something dumb to rebuild my confidence.

Scary Movie delivered on the dumb part.

The Old Crew Is Back

Cindy, Brenda, Shorty and Ray are dealing with another masked killer, plus pretty much every horror trend Hollywood has milked over the last few years.

The movie makes fun of legacy sequels, serious “elevated” horror, creepy technology and franchises that refuse to die. Basically, it attacks the same industry that brought it back. I respect the hustle.

Regina Hall steals the movie whenever Brenda appears. She can turn one facial expression into a better joke than some of the full scripted scenes. Anna Faris also slips back into Cindy’s clueless panic like no time passed.

The Wayans-style humor is definetly back too. Some jokes are smart, some are nasty and a few feel like they were written at 3 a.m. by somebody who lost a bet.

Not everything lands.

There’s a whole stretch where the movie fires jokes so fast that none of them get room to breathe. Stand-up teaches you that silence matters. Sometimes you gotta let the audience catch up before throwing another punchline.

This movie does not believe in silence.

Did It Make Me Laugh?

Yeah. More than I expected.

A few jokes made me groan, but then another one would hit so hard I had to pause. The best parts come from the returning cast acting completely serious while everything around them gets more ridiculous.

I’d already been using Myflixer new site for older comedies, so I rewatched the first two Scary Movies before this one. That probably helped, because there are plenty of references for people who remember the originals.

The plot barely matters, the killer reveal is stupid and the movie knows both of those things.

My rating: 7 out of 10.

It’s messy, loud and has at least ten jokes that shouldve stayed in the writers room. But it also made me laugh after a rough set, and thats more than I can say for the drunk guy who yelled relationship advice during my act.
