Extension training with online classes and hybrid meetings discusses public policies, inequalities, and the labor market in Brazil; registrations are open until March 22
Registrations are open until March 22, 2026, for the extension course “Development, Work, and Public Policies,” offered in collaboration between the State University of Campinas (Unicamp) and the Perseu Abramo Foundation (FPA).
With a workload of 90 hours, the course is aimed at people with complete higher education, including public servants, members of civil society organizations, political parties, and others interested in the subject. The first class is scheduled for April 13.
The course will have a 50% subsidy granted by the Perseu Abramo Foundation, transferred directly to Unicamp.
The individual investment will be R$ 478.66, which can be financed in up to three installments, in addition to a registration fee of R$ 24.00 (non-refundable).
Registrations and selection criteria
Registrations must be made between March 18 and 22, through the form available here.
Up to 100 candidates will be selected through a lottery among the valid applications, with criteria for regional, gender, and color/race balance. Twenty spots will be allocated to each region of the country: North, Northeast, Central-West, Southeast, and South.
Training focused on development and work
The course aims to present the main issues that characterize and hinder Brazilian development, with special attention to the labor market and the structural unemployment typical of peripheral capitalism.
The structuring axis is in the discussion of public policies, understood as central instruments for addressing inequalities, reorganizing work, and inducing development.
Class format and calendar
The activities will consist of 26 classes, each lasting 3 hours and 30 minutes, conducted online live (synchronous format, via Zoom platform).
Part of the meetings will be held in a hybrid format, with the possibility of in-person participation both at the Perseu Abramo Foundation, in Vila Mariana, São Paulo, and at the Institute of Economics of Unicamp, in Campinas.
Classes will take place on Mondays, from 6:30 PM to 10 PM. In some weeks, exceptionally (once a month), there will also be meetings on Wednesdays, at the same time, dedicated to collective thematic discussions and seminar presentations. The first class is scheduled for April 13.
